Massage & Cranial Therapy
I work specifically and intentionally into areas of tightness and pain while supporting the overall health of the musculature, fascia, and body as a whole. The pressure will be light, moderate, or deep depending on the health of your muscles and how your body receives and responds to the pressure.
My integrative approach draws on techniques from Swedish Massage, Connective Tissue Therapy, Neuro Muscular Therapy, and Sports Massage to provide a comprehensive treatment to the body.
Cranial Therapy (also called Craniosacral Therapy) is a gentle, non-invasive type of bodywork effective in responding to an array of clinical situations including:
Different from a massage session, you will remain fully clothed. The pressure is very light, and the work is focused on improving the quality of of the rhythm and flow of the Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) throughout the body. I tune into the subtleties of the rhythm throughout the body and bring the movement of each body part in sync with the entirety of the craniosacral system. When the movement of these subtle systems of the body is attended to, the resulting benefits can include resolution of old injuries or trauma, relief from painful or limiting symptoms, and a greater sense of ease throughout the entire body.
"...she's simply the only massage therapist I've ever worked with who can do deep tissue work on my back, and not have it go out the next day. I'm not sure how she does it. It's magical."
"Mary did a really wonderful job in my 90 minute massage. The cranial work was fantastic. I have a troublesome area in my middle back that she worked on really well. Her work is gentle, highly attuned to your body's needs and problem areas, and effective. I felt amazing by the time she was finished."
"Best and most relaxing massage I've ever had. I wholeheartedly recommend Mary!!"
"Mary is an extremely intuitive person who listened to me about my areas of pain, expertly worked all the affected areas, as well as found trigger points that I didn't even know existed...I have been living with chronic back pain for 14 years as a result of an injury, and in just one session, Mary got further than anyone else ever has toward relieving me of most of the pain associated with my injury!"
